Another month is gone and I, for one, am super excited for it to be Fall.
Yesterday marked the end of my second round of shredding and I wanted to share my Extreme Summer Shred results with you. But before we get to the numbers let’s discuss how the month of August went for me.
In a nutshell, I felt disconnected with my goals and even though I was still eating clean 80-90% of the time, and kept up with running and working out, my heart never felt 100% in the game. I have tried (many times) to figure out why but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
Maybe it was the low after the high that was July.
Maybe it was a little bit of self-sabotage after such a successful month.
Maybe I just needed a little break from the structure I had created for myself.
But ever since my birthday, and the last day of the summer shred, I have just felt off.
Now, that’s not to say I didn’t have results because I did.
And not every month/week/day is going to amazing but that doesn’t mean I’m not making progress.
I am not in this for the short-term so I need to stop focusing so much on the short-term. It is the long-term results that really matter at the end of the day.
At the same time, I certainly see value in measuring my results on a monthly basis, and to do it more often, for me, would only make me feel like I’m not making progress. Does that make any sense? It’s kind of like weighing yourself daily (which I am totally guilty of) because the number on the scale can fluctuate so much on any given day. I won’t necessarily see a change in the number on the scale from day-to-day just like I have a difficult time noticing changes in pictures from week-to-week.
Now month-to-month? That is something I can wrap my head around.
The change from July to August may not be as drastic as it was from June to July but there is still a difference. I can mainly see it in my back and in my face.
And of course, the numbers show that there was a change as well.
I lost 2 lbs and 7.5 inches.
