After our family ski adventure we headed to the annual Christmas Party in Midway.
The Community Club does a great job each year and there are always a lot of crafts, music and fun for the kids.
This year there were approximately 40 kids in attendance, more than anyone expected considering the size of our little Village (pop. 620).
Lincoln started by decorating, and eating, a sugar cookie.
Then he joined the band and banged on the drum for a bit.
Once the kids had a chance to partake in all the fun it was time for the man of the hour to arrive.
Santa was having trouble with his sleigh that day so he hitched a ride on the fire truck.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
I wasn’t sure how Lincoln would react to Santa but he did great.
No tears and he didn’t try to get away.
Santa hands out presents to all the kids. The Community Club does all the shopping for him so his Elves don’t have to work overtime during this busy time of year.
Did I mention that the party is free?
There is a donation jar so families pay what they can.
Considering a simple picture with Santa at the mall costs money it’s pretty darn amazing what the Community Club does for the children in our small community.
A big shout out to all the volunteers – you guys rock!
